Reports: Clear Channel Cuts Staff

Clear Channel Communications has begun its expected restructuring, cutting staff across the U.S. including San Diego, according to several web sites.

The company has announced plans to cut 7 percent of its staff in the U.S. according to a recent report in the Wall Street Journal.

Here in San Diego, one blog lists a number of employees at several different stations impacted by the layoffs.

Among the positions listed on the site are the staff of XTRA 1360 as well as sales positions at 933 and Star 94.1.

In Chicago, a columnist with the Chicago Tribune reports a veteran of Chicago radio is among those cut to reportedly eliminate $400 million in costs.
