RB Block Party A Hotty!

Weekend heat wave to make RB Alive hotter than usual

"RB Alive" is always a hot ticket but, with the impending heat wave this weekend the 22nd annual street fair in the north county community is guaranteed to be hotter than usual.  More than 55,000 people are expected to attend the event and the word to the wise is to dress for the heat and bring plenty of sunscreen and water.

"RB Alive" takes place Sunday, June 6 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at  Bernardo Center Drive at Lomica Drive in the heart of Rancho Bernardo. According to the weatherman, it will already be warm and sunny as the gates open and the mercury could soar to near 90 degrees by 3 o'clock or so.

This is billed as a great "family event" with some 300 booths to grab your attention and keep you moving; everything from health exhibitors to arts and crafts as well as representatives from various local businesses and religious organizations.  There is also plenty of food and drink and three stages featuring lots of live music.  There's even a Kids Zone with loads of rides, finger-food and games galore.  And, for the young-at-heart, there is the big Classic Car Show in the Wachovia Bank parking lot.

Just remember, hydrate! - drink plenty of water, plan on buying more while you're there walking around, wear light clothing, a hat and plaster on plenty of sunscreen and bring extra for reapplying during the heat of the afternoon.
