Puck Headlines: Girlfriend seeks help as man ‘cheats' with Pens

Here are your Morning Puck Headlines: A glorious collection of news and views collected from the greatest blogosphere in sports and the few, the proud, the mainstream hockey media.

• "Off-season only girlfriend" writes into an advice column here on Yahoo! that her man is simply too obsessed with the Pittsburgh Penguins. "I end up feeling unimportant to him -- almost as if he has a second girlfriend and he's cheating on me with 'her.'" (Great, another Crosby basher.) Anyhoo, Frank from PensBurgh lends a sympathetic ear to females that share her plight ... before tearing into the advice columnist. "I question whether her first marriage to a hockey fan ended because he was hockey-obsessed or she was just an idiot." [PensBurgh]

• Ominous words from NHLPA executive director Paul Kelly about the players' vote in 60 days on reopening the CBA: "While every player would prefer to play under a non-cap, free market system, the decision to be made by the players in the coming weeks should not be viewed as a referendum on their acceptance or non-acceptance of the current cap structure." [Bruins Blog]

• Revisiting the ESPN "experts" predictions, and how they're looking thus far. Otherwise known as, "What the hell was Scott Burnside smoking?" [Flying Water Bottle]

• Something stinks on Long Island, and Greg Logan of Newsday knows it: "The real question is why the Islanders have given up at least four goals in each of the seven losses in the past eight games and 37 overall not counting two empty-netters in those seven losses. It appears the system is deeply flawed, at least the way the Islanders play it, as DiPietro is destined to discover soon enough." [Newsday]

• Then again, maybe all the Islanders need to get rid of that stink is some "Beek's Reek'Out," the organic oder remover produced by former NHL star Pat Verbeek. Well, not produced in the biological sense; he doesn't, like, secrete it. He owns the company. [Snapshots]

• The Hockey News polled 90 players about whether the NHL should "automatically penalize any hit to the head." Of the 90 respondents, 60 said no. [THN]

• Finally, Pascal Dupuis of the Pittsburgh Penguins gets shaving creamed after their win against the New York Islanders. Actually creaming occurs at the one-minute mark:
