The Adicts hail originally from Ipswich, Suffolk, England and got their start in 1975.

One of the most popular punk bands of the 1980s, they were often in the indie charts during that decade.
The group's lineup currently consists of primary members lead singer Keith "Monkey" Warren (pictured right), guitarist Pete "Pete Dee" Davison, and drummer Michael "Kid Dee" Davison.

Interesting fact: The Adicts originated with the name "Afterbirth & the Pinz." (Pete Davison pictured)

They soon changed their name to the Adicts and became known for their distinctive "Clockwork Orange"-inspired "droog" image -- which along with their urgent, uptempo music and light-hearted lyrics, helped set them apart from other punk groups.

They released their debut EP in 1979 titled "Lunch with the Adicts," which was then followed in 1981 by their first full-length album "Songs of Praise."

In 1983, the Adicts released "Bad Boy", their highest-charting single. The success of that single led to the band signing with Warner Bros. Records offshoot Sire Records. (Michael Davison pictured)

At that time, the band changed their name to ADX at the behest of Sire, as the name the Adicts was considered to have too much of a negative connotation. They'd soon change it back.

Their music has catchy melodies and lyrics, and often features extra instruments and sound clips -- such as carousel music in "How Sad", violin played by Derick Cook in "Joker in the Pack", and gongs and keyboard percussion by Anthony Boyd in "Chinese Takeaway".

The musicians typically wear all-white clothing with black boots and black bowler hats.

Whereas Warren often wears joker makeup, wildly patterned suits (such as checkerboard or polka dot), flared trousers, colorful dress shirts, bowler hat, gloves -- and, as you can see, glorious capes.

The band's visual look is complemented by their stage shows, involving items such as streamers, confetti, playing cards, beach balls, joker hats, toy instruments, bubbles and glitter.

In 2017, the Adicts signed to Nuclear Blast, and announced the release of their latest album "And It Was So!" What a fun, wild show -- come back soon, lads!
