Swedish trip-hop/dream-pop group Little Dragon roared through the Observatory North Park on April 16, with acclaimed DJ/producer Sasha Marie opening.

The group is comprised of vocalist/percussionist Yukimi Nagano, drummer Erik Bodin, bassist Fredrik Kallgren Wallin, and keyboardist Hakan Wirenstrand.

The experimental dream-pop/trip-hop/downtempo group got their start in 1996, while Nagano (pictured), Bodin and Wallin were all still in high school.

However, their debut single – with the songs “Twice” and “Test” -- wasn’t released until 2006. Their proper self-titled full length came out the following year.

It was followed by 2009’s “Machine Dreams,” and 2011’s “Ritual Union" -- which was ranked at No. 41 on Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Albums of 2011 list.

Fun fact: On the recommendation of his wife, Damon Albarn invited Little Dragon to feature on Gorillaz’s 2010 album, “Plastic Beach.” He then asked them to open their following tour.

Their fourth studio album, “Nabuma Rubberband,” was released in May 2014 and received a nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 57th annual Grammy Awards.

Just two days before their Observatory show, the band released their fifth album: “Season High.”
