Nominees Predict Music Awards: Best Live Performer

Who better to predict the big winners of the 2019 SDMAs than nominees themselves?

With the 2019 San Diego Music Awards right around the corner (the annual ceremony takes place at House of Blues on March 11), we decided to have a conversation with a few of this year's nominees about their predictions on the upcoming award show's biggest categories. After all, who better to make the call on possible winners than some of the very same folks who could possibly take home trophies this year? Now up for discussion: Best Live Performer (check out the picks for Best New Artist here).

BEST LIVE PERFORMER NOMINEES

  • Sully & the Souljahs
  • The Creepy Creeps
  • The Redwoods Collective
  • The Schizophonics
  • The Sleepwalkers
  • Whitney Shay
  • Sure Fire Soul Ensemble

Parker Edison (whose group, the Parker Meridien, is nominated for Best Hip-Hop/Rap and Best Hip-Hop/Rap Album): Sure Fire Soul Ensemble. Very few groups could play after them.

Shane Hall (nominated for Best Singer/Songwriter): The Creepy Creeps. There is just something about a band or artist who know who they are and pour every bit of that into their live show and records! Those fellas do exactly that!

Jordan Krimston (whose band, Miss New Buddha, is up for Best New Artist): All these acts slay, but Schizophonics are constantly putting in 200 percent and it shows!

Veronica May (nominated for Best Pop Album): I saw the Creepy Creeps on a Mardi Gras cruise and they are all legitimately crazy, which I can relate to. They work hard and the quality music matches the effort they put into their live show and the way they all look.
