Mason Jennings is considered one of the best-kept secrets in pop music. He takes his unique influences from the past (like Hank Williams and Led Zeppelin) and makes it sound fresh and new. Fellow singer/songwriter Jack Johnson, who signed Jennings to his label Brushfire Records, is also a huge fan.
"Every time I hear a Mason Jennings album it changes the way I see the world around me," said Johnson.
As for playing for the Elemental Experience concert, this soulful singer, who has played several shows in San Diego before, has nothing but great things to say.
"I love San Diego so i'm glad to be a part of it," said Jennings. "Music is my calling so I can bring that to the table."
Jennings is a busy guy, with family life that includes raising two young kids. He is hoping to finish up a new record in the next few months and is also slated to tour again in the fall, which includes a stop in San Diego! And if that wasn't enough, Jennings is also collorborating with Barefoot Wines and the Surfrider Foundation to do several beach clean-ups.
"It's been a slow growth, but extremely fun for me," Jennings said. "For me, it's about expanding and working from a place of joy. If I can enjoy what I do and make new art that inspires me, everything will work our for the best."
