Annual "Carnevale" expected to draw thousands to Little Italy

It's going to be a beautiful weekend in America's Finest - dry for a change - so why not get outside and do a little celebrating.

The Little Italy Association is making it easy for you as it hosts the 7th Annual Carnivale Saturday night, February 13.  More than 15,000 San Diegans are expected to attend.

The event is patterned after a century old Venetian Ball, featuring vignettes of entertainment, masks and costumes.

You're encouraged to show up wearing at least a bright, colored mask as you pick up your "Passport di Carnevale" at the Piazza Basilone (corner of India and Fir).

The passport will direct you to the many neighborhood businesses and restaurants that are participating in the party as well as point you in the right direction for the various live entertainment venues.

The festivities get started at 5 p.m. and run though 10 p.m. and it is absolutely free.  Click here for more information.
