Thousands Expected at Gaslamp Mardi Gras

More than 40,000 revelers expected for 18th annual Gaslamp Quarter Mardi Gras

Grab your beads: San Diego is going to party, Fat Tuesday-style.

For the 18th year in a row, the Gaslamp quarter will be transformed into a Mardi Gras paradise for a six-hour celebration.

There will be five stages with live music performances, featuring DJ’s and street performers.

The Mardi Gras celebration will be held on Feb. 21 from 6 p.m. to midnight.

Tickets to this 21+ Mardi Gras madness are $25 at the door. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit the event website.

For those not attending the party, expect traffic delays in and around downtown beginning at 5 p.m.

After the event MTS will be extended for all Trolley lines from the 5th Avenue Station:

Orange Line to Gillespie Field: 12:41am
Blue Line to San Ysidro: 12:45am
Blue Line to Old Town, Qualcomm Stadium & SDSU: 1:38am
