"I Kissed A Girl" star phenom performs in San Diego

Even on a stage crowded with enormous pieces of inflatable fruit, a giant cat’s head and svelte young musicians wearing illuminated white suits, it will be impossible not to notice when "I Kissed A Girl" singer Katy Perry make her entrance this week in San Diego.

So what’s in store at San Diego's House of Blues when the pop phenom takes to the stage on Feb 5. Perhaps known best for her smash hit “I Kissed A Girl,” Perry is described in published reports as a hip-shaking, lingerie-wearing, pseudo-lesbian pop star.

The former Christian singer-turned-pop phenom is wowing audiences with “her big voice, sassy attitude and feisty, confessional songs,"  according to her Web site.

“Someone told me the other day that I’m a bit like Lucille Ball," Perry writes on the site. "They said, 'You look pretty put-together on the outside, but inside there’s just something big wrong. ‘”
