It's a golden hour for shows at Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre in late summer and fall. On Aug. 22, Kacey Musgraves will headline San Diego State University's spacious venue, and Lizzo will follow suit on Oct. 24.
Both artists are coming off of Coachella 2019 appearances, with Musgraves having played both Fridays and Lizzo having played both Sundays.
For Musgraves, who has won six Grammy Awards, including this year's Album of the Year, 2019 is a special one for the successful country-pop star.
Lizzo, meanwhile, is absolutely blowing up right now and doing hip-hop her way -- body positivity and self-love included.
Musgraves and Lizzo were not only born the same year, but they're also Texans through and through. No surprise, then, that while their styles might be wildly different, they're both trailblazers in their own right.
Help them continue to set that example (as if they need it).
