Julieta Venegas Drops Sweeping New Single

The queen of alt-Latino music reigns with a smashing accordion-filled single

Si, Si, Si! Julieta Venegas does it again with the drop of her new single “Ese Camino” (That Journey). The punchy, head-bobbing, accordion-filled track is totally representative of what makes Tijuana’s finest a Latin Grammy-winning musician.

On Thursday, May 21, Venegas, 44, announced the single’s debut on Facebook.

"I'm excited to share the news of my new single ‘Ese Camino,’" Venegas says in a video post. “It's a song that I wrote from being inspired by my childhood. It's about how it marks you -- leaves traces that'll last you for the rest of your life. Hopefully you like it!"

The single is undoubtedly a hallmark of Venegas’ new chapter as a mami to her 4-year-old named Simona. The single’s cover art shows Venegas as a cute pig-tailed toddler posing with a munequita on a tricycle in a backyard.

"Our childhood shapes us for life; we all go through that journey,” Venegas says in a statement. ”And what lives on forever within us is that innocence, freshness, vulnerability, and the bliss of having been children.”

"Ese Camino," is a release from her upcoming album, "Algo Sucede," due out on August 14.
