I remember being in high school and discovering a stash of vinyl my mom had stashed away. We no longer had a record player and she really had no use for them, but I came across some old Joan Baez and Judy Collins wax, procured an old beater of a turntable, and my music life changed. Baez is a legend, an activist, an idol. And tonight she performs a sold-out show at Humphreys and it's going to be incredible for those in the audience. I only hope there's a decent scattering of millennials and Gen Xers among the boomers. If you didn't score tickets, there are shows for the taking, like indie band Still Corners at the Casbah, Austin heavy rockers Hikes play Soda Bar, and punk band the Adicts play at House of Blues. Lots of good stuff to get you off your couch this Tuesday night before the madness of tomorrow's Halloween celebration.
