This Saturday is the day your letter carrier carries more than just letters, picks up more than they drop off and their letter bags are heavier than during the holidays. It's the National Association of Letter Carriers annual food drive.
You're being asked to donate non-perishable food items such as canned soup, meat and fish and dried items like boxes of cereal, rice or pasta. All you have to do is put your items in a bag and leave it on your doorstep near your mailbox. Your letter carrier will pick up the package and drop it off at your local food bank.
Again, they're asking for non-perishable items to be bagged and left outside near your mailbox, this Saturday, May 9; and please, no glass and no food items that have expired.
