When I realized the Hives were gonna be at the Observatory North Park this week, I got pretty excited about the potential of attending their show, but now I'm sick as a dog, so y'all are going to have to enjoy the Swedes without me. And enjoy you will. The Hives are one of those bands who consistently release good music, so when you're at their show -- even if you're not a superfan -- you realize you're more familiar than you thought. The Refused co-headline and the ladies of Bleached are back to remind you that they're kicking ass and taking names. Meanwhile, Elle King is another woman in music taking names, and tonight she's at House of Blues. At the Casbah, get your "Teenage Kicks" with the Undertones; the ladies of Thick represent Brooklyn punk rock at Soda Bar; and Holy Wave and Heavy Hawaii play at Whistle Stop.
