A North County City wants to make sure that enough contestants turn out for a pair of pageants, according to a published report.
San Marcos is looking for teens and young women to enter the 2009 Miss San Marcos and Miss Teen San Marcos pageants.
Entrants must be between 17 and 22 for Miss San Marcos, while teen hopefuls entering the Miss Teen San Marcos can be between 13 and 17.
The Miss San Marcos has been held for 25 years but was canceled once because of a lack of contestants.
A registration deadline has been set for Jan. 14 to register. The winners will be selected Feb. 21 at the San Marcos Community Center.
