Does anyone else feel -- despite being more than halfway through February -- that you're still recovering from the holidays and the amazing 30th anniversary month of the Casbah in January? Right now, things are a little quiet before we zip into the onslaught of SxSW bands and then move right on into Coachella season, but there are still great options for live music if you're feeling inspired to get out and catch some. At the Casbah, it's all superstars of the scene, with the Paragraphs, the Gift Machine, and the Oxen rounding out a solid Tuesday, or you can head to Soda Bar for the dramatic yet hushed sound of Half Waif. Renowned harp player Mark Hummel leads a blues revue at the Belly Up while Tiki Tuesday at Bar Pink welcomes Alvino & the Dwells. The Nels Cline 4 -- he being of Wilco for many years -- plays the Loft at UCSD and the Overdrives take the stage at the Merrow for a Tim Pyles-hosted night of fun. You caught up with all your streaming entertainment over the long and rainy weekend, now's your chance to go out and soak in some live music.
