San Diego Hosts Great Urban Race

hundreds of people decked out in costume will be racing around the city in search of clues on Oct. 29

Plenty of people will be dressed up in costume this weekend, but not everyone is masquerading for Halloween—some will be in serious competition.

San Diego will be hosting The Great Urban Race on Oct. 29 and hundreds of people decked out in costume will be racing around the city in search of clues.

Teams are given 12 mental and physical challenges to complete in five hours, on foot or by transit.
The first place team will be awarded $300, and will have a chance to participate at the national championship where the grand prize is $10,000.

Other prizes will be awarded for best costume, top family team, second place and third place.
The event encourages teams to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by registering as St. Jude’s Heroes.

Race day registration will be available for $70 per person, and packet pick up time starts at 11a.m. on Oct. 29 at Wave House at 3125 Ocean Front Walk in Mission Beach.
