Full-Sensory Thursday Night Thing

San Diego’s Museum of Contemporary Art is at it again, hosting another art and music-filled Thursday Night Thing (TNT) at their downtown location. Since you’ve probably been culture-starved since their last event, this quarter’s TNT promises to satisfy all your senses.

SIGHT
Who needs canvas when you’ve got four walls and a spacious art museum to work with? Enjoy the visual stimulation of Jennifer Steinkamp’s awe-inspiring 4,500-square-foot Madame Curie installation, or Joan Jonas’ five-channel video display. If you’re into more traditional art, don’t miss Raúl Cordero as he leads a discussion about his collection of oil paintings inspired by Rembrandt.

SOUND
'Best Alternative Band' Cuckoo Chaos and electronic beat master Jamuel Saxon will provide the live soundtrack for your cultural awakening.

SMELL

Sniff out your regional identity in the San Diego scent-scape created by local artist Brian Goeltzenleuchter.

TASTE

Nosh on small bites from MIHO Gastrotruck, which will be serving up fresh farm-to-cocktail-napkin fare like pesto flatbread and grass-fed beef sliders.

TOUCH
Wander into the Berglund Room, which will be turned into a ‘sensory lounge’ complete with art-making activities for all ages.

Free for MCASD members, $10 general public. 21+ after 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 7-10 p.m.
