Opened this past, ahem, summer by stylist Summer Albertsen, the boutique Summer Elizabeth doles out jeans by J. Brand, subtly embellished dresses by French label Casting, and studded suede bracelets by Streets Ahead.
It’s a tiny gem of a boutique tucked into the alley that cleaves through Prospect between Ivanhoe and Cave. Albertsen is a personal stylist with clients in Rancho Santa Fe, La Jolla, and L.A., and she opened the shop (named in part after her late mother, Elizabeth) as a manifesto of her eclectic (“but with a sexy edge”) sense of style. Born and raised here, Albertsen has lived in Montana, L.A. and S.F., but, she says, “San Diego is definitely my place. It’s laidback, not pretentious, and people are loyal — there are really good people here.”
