Fabulous Fashionistas Come Together

Some top names in fashion and Hollywood are expected in La Jolla this weekend to celebrate the 2nd Annual Fashion Film Festival.

The festival will bring together actors, models, producers and directors.

Attendees can expect red carpet arrivals and after parties with fashions from Chanel, Dior and Armani and screenings of short films featuring celebrities like Megan Fox and Cristiano.

“It’s taken a year to organize and it’s going to be an exciting event,” said Fred Sweet, festival founder and producer.
An opening reception will take place from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 29.

On Saturday, Kiki Smith of Mahal Style will lead a seminar beginning at 3:30 p.m. and Robin Kay, the President of the Fashion Design Council of Canada, will lead a second seminar beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Short films will be featured from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on both nights at the Museum of Contemporary Art at 700 Prospect St. in La Jolla.

“This year, it’s a 500-seat theater with a state-of-the-art projector and sound system,” Sweet said.
A chic after-party will be hosted at Barfly in La Jolla on both nights as well, where amazing never-before-seen portraits of Andy Warhol will be on display.

Two types of tickets are available for purchase each night.

For Friday night, a ticket that includes the opening night screening and after party costs $50. A ticket that includes the opening night screening, after party and director’s reception costs $75.

For Saturday night, $50 buys a ticket that includes the closing night screening and after party while $75 will get you into the director’s reception as well.
