Ex-Marine: Buddies Confessed Killing Marine, Wife

A former Marine said his buddies confessed to murdering their boss and his wife during a home-invasion robbery in Riverside County.

Justin Weissinger testified Wednesday at a preliminary hearing to determine whether four Marines should stand trial for the October murder of Sgt. Jan Pietrzak and his wife, Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak, in French Valley.

"Did Emrys John tell you that he killed Sgt. Pietrzak and his wife?" prosecutor Daniel DeLimon asked.

"Yes," former Marine Justin Weissinger, 22, testified. "He said that he did it."

Weissinger, who isn't charged, testified he worked with Tyrone Miller and Emrys John at Camp Pendleton. Weissinger testified John and Miller talked to him outside their workshop on Camp Pendleton where they had worked with Pietrzak, reported the North County Times. He said Miller acknowledged ordering the murders and John said he shot the couple.

"Mr. Miller stated he handed Mr. John the gun and told Mr. John to do them," Weissinger testified.

Weissinger said the men also confessed they raped Jenkins-Pietrzak.

Miller, John, Kevin Cox, 21, and Kesaun K. Sykes, 22, have pleaded not guilty to murder, robbery, rape and burglary. They could face the death penalty if convicted.
