I love this time of year so much. The sun's out, we've got long days and temperate nights and opportunities to be outside present themselves, like tonight's summer kickoff of Bird Park's free concerts. In fact, San Diego is full of these pocket parks, and there are many outdoor series, but this one happens to kickoff with my BFF Jake Najor and his band, the Moment of Truth, which makes it extra special and worth the mention. By nightfall, catch everyone's favorite psych rockers, Earthless, in their first of two nights at the Casbah, or find out what "world beat rock & roll" is at Soda Bar with Elektric Voodoo. Lots of fun stuff to keep this extended weekend moving right along.
