Responding to the sagging economy, three Balboa Park museums will temporarily offer reduced admission prices beginning Sunday.
The Mingei International Museum, the Museum of Man and the Museum of Photographic Arts will offer half-price admission from 10 a.m. to noon on weekends through May 25, said Mingei spokeswoman Charlotte Cagan.
"There is an understanding on our part that we want to provide more affordable arts and culture opportunities to the entire city and San Diego community," Cagan said.
She said the reduced-admission program is a way to make sure everyone can visit the Balboa Park museums despite the struggling economy.
Individual contributions are down, Cagan said, but visitor numbers at the Mingei are holding steady.
Regular admission prices for an adult ticket at the three museums range from $6 to $10.
