Art and ocean lovers can indulge this week in great food and drinks, beautiful art, music and a picturesque ocean view, all while saving the coast at the 10th Annual Art Gala in Del Mar.
The Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter is hosting the event on May 20 from 6-10 p.m. at the Powerhouse Community Center to celebrate coastal conservation efforts. Supporters are being urged now to secure one of the 150 seats by buying an advanced tickets for $75, which will also cover dinner, free drink, and the chance to bid on original ocean-themed artwork.
Featuring local and national artists, the silent and live auctions will also include a special treat from artist Wade Koniakowsky, who will paint live at the event and auction off the piece later in the evening.
Money from the tickets and auctions will fund the foundation chapter’s education and outreach programs, beach cleanups, advocacy efforts and pollution monitoring.
