Brand New Legoland Attraction Shutting Down

Closure starts Tuesday

The Sea Life Aquarium at Legoland in Carlsbad will be closed for six weeks starting Nov. 11.

The 175,000-gallon aquarium opened in August. Legoland rushed to open the aquarium in time for the busy summer season, with the idea that once peak season ended, they could close it again for improvements, the North County Times reported.

The modifications include an interactive sandcastle-building area, Lego animation and new decor. The aquarium entrance will be remodeled, and the audio/visual technology will be improved, the article “Legoland to Close Aquarium for Six Weeks” read.

Pre-paid tickets can be refunded, new tickets can be issued for a later date or the price of the aquarium tickets can be used toward the purchase of reduce-price tickets to the park.

The aquarium will reopen Dec. 26. The closure does not affect the Legoland California park.
