Blink-182 and Lil Wayne Announce Co-Headlining Show

Blink-182 and Lil Wayne will co-headline North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre on Aug. 7

Tom DeLonge's reviving Angels & Airwaves, and Blink-182 just announced a hometown show. Conspiracy? I dunno, ask Tom.

In the meantime, chew on this: Blink and Lil Wayne are co-headlining North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre on Aug. 7. Wait, what?

Yeah! What?! Okay! Oh ... wrong "Lil."

While it might seem like an odd pairing at first, remember that Blink drummer Travis Barker featured both Lil Wayne and also Lil Jon on his 2011 solo debut album, "Give the Drummer Some." Barker has been a frequent collaborator with a number of hip-hop stars over the years, and Wayne has been known to dip his toe into the rock scene -- most recently with Imagine Dragons. So, the joint venture makes sense to a certain extent.

Whatever brings Blink back home will likely satisfy many San Diegans, as the pop-punk trio hasn't returned from whence they came in some three years. For Lil Wayne, it's been about five years since he's performed in America's Finest City, so ... long overdue for both.

Tickets for this show go live on Friday, May 10, at noon. Pre-sales are up the day before at 10 a.m.
