Big Boi Lands on Horizon Music Festival

DJs Elephante, Justin Caruso and Erick Diaz will also perform, with some proceeds going to the Urban Angels foundation

Just five months after his glamorous Super Bowl LIII appearance with the very meme-worthy Adam Levine, Big Boi is coming to our very own backyard ... or front yard.

On Saturday, July 6, the Horizon Music Festival will bring Andre 3000's Outkast counterpart to Embarcadero Marina Park North (400 Kettner Blvd.). LA-based progressive house producer Elephante, EDM star Justin Caruso and local DJ Erick Diaz will also be performing just behind Seaport Village.

Big Boi did perform at Kaaboo in September and at Observatory North Park in January before that, so his return isn't too out of the blue -- but it's sure always welcome.

In May of 2018, Horizon brought electronic music duo Thievery Corporation to the bayfront, so someone's got their booking game down.

You might expect a festival with headliners like this to cost a pretty penny, but Horizon is surprisingly affordable. While general admission pre-sales are sold out, an early entry ticket is only $20, a Tier 1 general admission ticket is only $25, a Tier 2 general admission ticket is only $30 and a VIP ticket with an open bar is only $85. Check out all of the details here.

According to the festival website, "Horizon events are sponsored by Sycuan Casino, Urbn Leaf and Basic Water. They benefit the Urban Angels foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to nourishing the homeless of San Diego."

Looks like a win-win -- especially if you don't have any Fourth of July plans yet.
