Balboa Park From a Kid's Point of View

It's no secret that children see things adults miss. So Balboa Park staffers have just launched a contest to see how San Diego's children view the park.

In the first contest of its kind, the Kid's-Eye View of the Park contest invites kids to show what they love about our park. From the Japanese Friendship Garden to the San Diego Zoo - anything is game as long as there aren't people in the picture.

Stay connected to what’s going on around town by signing up for our daily newsletter.

This isn't just for bragging rights but rather for some pretty good swag.  Here are the prizes listed on the Balboa Park blog:

  • First Prize: An HP Photosmart Premium photo printer, Behind-the-Scenes tour (including the art storage vault) of MoPA with the Executive Director, and a Family 4-pack of Passports to Balboa Park.
  • Second Prize: A Backstage Pass tour for a family of four at the San Diego Zoo, which offers guests a rare opportunity to view up close, help train, and even touch some exotic animals.
  • Third Prize: Family 4-pack of Gallery/IMAX admissions to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center and a $20 North Star Science Store gift card redeemable at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center.

For more information, contest rules and deadline, check out the full post on Balboa Beat.

To all those adults who would love to share your favorite images of the park, go ahead and send them to us. We use images sent to isee@nbcsandiego.com every day in our weather gallery online and our newscasts on NBC 7/39.
