St. Lucia, Lost Kings and Tim Legend Top Avolution Fest's Return

An avocado shortage won't stop the second annual avocado-centric music festival

There might be an avocado shortage right now, but that's not going to stop Chosen Foods' Avolution Fest from holding its second annual avocado-centric music festival on Saturday, June 8, from 4-10 p.m.

Featuring live music from St. Lucia, Lost Kings and Tim Legend, Avolution Fest promises to be "an immersive experience celebrating all things avocado with live music, art installations, food trucks and drinks at Broadway Pier [1000 N. Harbor Drive] in Downtown San Diego," according to a recent press release.

For just $20-25 a ticket, festivalgoers will be privy to more than 15,000 square feet of "immersive avocado art installations," according to the festival's online description. Exactly what that means isn't entirely clear, but it doesn't get much more Southern Californian than that.

But back to the music. St. Lucia is the stage name of Brooklyn-based South African indie electronic singer/producer Jean-Philip Grobler, currently signed to Neon Gold/Columbia Records. He's slated to play at 6 p.m.

Lost Kings, who play at 8:30 p.m., are a DJ duo from Los Angeles, and they're primarily known for their big name remixes and progressive house productions.

South Carolina-born trap/chillout producer Tim Legend plays first at 4:30 p.m., so smash that avocado toast down your gullet quickly.
