5/12: We Love Our Calendar Girls

THAT’S COMEDY: Need a good laugh? Well you’ll get plenty from Giants of Comedy at The Comedy Palace. For two solid hours, be prepared for a good abdominal workout from cracking up so much. Some of Southern California’s funniest comics, including Billy Bonnell, Rich the Stitch and national headliner, Zoltan, will be there to make sure you don’t leave without a lingering smile on your face. Make sure to check out the new menu, with $1.99 hot wings. Also, print out the Yelp ad for free entry. The show starts at 7:45 p.m.

CALENDAR GIRLS: Free movie and popcorn! Need we say more? Well, we will. Watch Helen Mirren and Julie Walters in the 2003 film, Calendar Girls, at the North University Community Library. The film is a true story about a group of British women who pose rather scantily-clad for a good cause, which in turn stirs up complete media frenzy. Show starts at 7:30 p.m.

GET IN LINE: Behind the Wagon will be performing at Bar Pink, rocking their unusual mix of rock, punk and country tunes. See what all the fuss is about at 10 p.m. and try some of the bar’s signature drinks like a Flirtini and a Pink Elephant.
