Weekend Events for Feb. 8-10

Run with you dog, watch motocross or celebrate Chinese New Year

From Chinese New Year celebrations to baseball and motocross, there’s plenty of events to pick from this weekend.

Here's what you can enjoy in San Diego:

Friday, Feb. 8

Winter Brewfest
7 p.m. at Port Pavilion at Broadway Pier
San Diego beer is arguably some of the best in the country, nay the world. Try some of them in one place at the annual beer festival. Tickets start at $40.

Museum Month
Various times, locations
Take the day off an enjoy one of the 42 museums offering half-off admission throughout San Diego.

Saturday, Feb. 9

Padres Fanfest
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Petco Park
Is it baseball season yet? Get ready for the Padres new season on Saturday at Fanfest, where you can meet players and check out Petco Park’s field up close. It’s free, so bring as many people as you want.

Monster Energy Supercross
7 p.m. at Qualcomm Stadium
Get your motocross fix this weekend when dozens of riders compete for this year’s supercross championship. Tickets start at $15. 

Dirty Girl Mud Run
8 a.m. at Cottonwood Golf Club
Ladies can race through this muddy obstacle course and get dirty for a good cause. Proceeds from the run go toward National Breast Cancer Foundation. Registration costs $100.

Escondido Chocolate Festival
2-8 p.m. in downtown Escondido
Got a sweet tooth? Then head to Escondido for this divine chocolate, beer and wine pairing event. Tickets are $25.

Jump Start Your Heart 5K
8 a.m. at Crown Point Shores Park
Why not take care of your heart all while helping someone else’s? This fun run benefits the Children’s Heart Foundation, which fights congenital heart defects. Registration is $35 and includes a hosted party at Firehouse PB afterward.

Little Italy Carnevale
5-9 p.m. in on India Street between Fir and Cedar Streets
More than 12,000 people are expected to dress in Venetian garb and celebrate a traditional Italian regalia. The event is free, with food and drinks available for purchase.

Sunday, Feb. 10

Tough Mudder SoCal
8 a.m. at Vail Lake Resort, Temecula
Thousands of people will compete in the 10-mile obstacle course in Temecula this weekend. Watch some of the toughest people in California attempt to finish the near-impossible course.

Puppy Love 5K
8 a.m. at 777 South Coast Highway
Dress up your dog and talk them on this run/walk that. The event has raised more than $40,000 so far and all proceeds benefit the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
