Free Under the Stars: If you are looking to camp, what better place than Holmes Camp? The views are spectacular, there are no quiet hours and the price is right - free! The land was once the homestead of a local turkey rancher. Now, it's popular with campers in part because of the shade from some tamarisk trees. Bring the food and water you'll need (it IS the desert), wood for a fire and quarters for the showers. The best time of year to visit is in the winter months.
