Embassy Suites Gets Sweet Upgrade

The San Diego Bay Downtown hotel received major upgrades through a recently-completed $8.5 million renovation project

A downtown San Diego hotel has received some very “sweet” upgrades after the completion of an $8.5 million renovation project.

Embassy Suites San Diego Bay Downtown completed the major revamp earlier this month to its property located at 601 Pacific Hwy.

The project included the large-scale restoration of the hotel’s atrium and lobby areas where guests can now find new flooring, lounge décor and furniture, plus a new fountain, a big screen TV and a sculpture.
The atrium has a new skylight too, improving the natural lighting of the lounging space.

The building’s façade, elevators and 341 guestrooms also received updates. New planters and artwork were also added around the property. A revamped fitness center – including brand-new equipment – and a redesign of the hotel’s meeting spaces, hallways and guest areas rounded out the renovations.

As for on-site dining, guests can still find options across the atrium including the only Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin Robbins eatery in the downtown area, plus the PFC Bar & Grill.

The project was completed just in time for the busy tourist season. The hotel is just steps away from major San Diego stops, including the Gaslamp Quarter, The Headquarters at Seaport District and the San Diego Convention Center.
