County Fair Announces 2016 Lineup

It's no wonder the San Diego County Fair, which runs June 3-July 4, adopted a Mad About the Fair theme this year -- just a glance at its just-announced concert lineup is enough to drive anyone crazy.

Local alt-rockers Switchfoot kick off this year’s cast of entertainment on the Heineken Grandstand Stage on opening night, June 3. The packed lineup over the next month brings out big names across genres, with everything from throwbacks to indie to pop, country and regional, including Brian Wilson (of the Beach Boys), X Ambassadors, Kenny Rogers, Rachel Platten (of “Fight Song” fame), Espinoza Paz, Three Doors Down, Roberto Tapia and the 12th annual Gospel Festival featuring Shirley Caesar, to share just a few.

Meanwhile, the Paddock Series packs its own punch, with Los Lonely Boys, Ozomatli, MarchFourth!, Jonny Lang, the Bacon Brothers (yes, Kevin Bacon) and more making fairgoers mad about music.

As always, all of the Paddock Series shows are free with fair admission, as are most at the Grandstand Stage, though there are a few that require an additional ticket for entrance (lookin’ at you, Lady Antebellum).
