The night after Paul McCartney treats a packed Petco Park to a career-spanning set, Beatles fans will have another chance to catch some of their favorite Fab Four tunes performed live by helter-skeltering on over to the Belly Up.

On Sunday, June 23, the Solana Beach venue hosts a charity benefit for Carly's Cause featuring a cast of all-star musicians performing songs off the Beatles' 1968 self-titled double album (commonly referred to as "The White Album") and more.

While Macca won't be on hand (or will he? Hey, he'll be in town and the guy's known for making surprise appearances at things like this), the Rock For Rare Diseases fundraiser promises great music (of course) played by a few big names and more local talent than you can shake a stick at.

Things to Do This Weekend in San Diego

Costco Food Court Soon to Be Exclusive for Members

Featuring San Diego prog-rock guitarist/keyboardist extraordinaire Mike Keneally (onetime member of Frank Zappa's touring band), Wayne Nelson (bassist in Little River Band), Jeremy Colson (long-time drummer for Steve Vai) and others, the event aims to raise funds for research and finding a cure for young children affected by the DDX3X gene mutation.

That mutation -- in which there's a "spelling mistake" in one of the copies of their X genes -- often leads to several conditions, including intellectual disabilities, speech impairment, scoliosis, heart disease, hypotonia and more. Carly's Cause is a San Diego-based nonprofit organization committed to helping special needs children by fundraising for research and financial assistance programs, and providing art and music therapy, lessons and more to children with physical disabilities and neuorological disorders.

Aside from the aforementioned players, the show will also be propelled throughout the night by local musicians including Carly's Cause founder Sandi Shaner (Get Groovin'), Roni Lee, Claudio Pesavento (Dokken, Chris Squire), Ray DiGiorgio (RDG), Jason Cooper (Journeymen: A Tribute to Journey), John Cappel (Oceans: A Tribute to Pearl Jam), Michelle Whitlow (Sin After Sin: A Tribute to Judas Priest) and many others.

So after you see McCartney's big stadium show, why not head to the Belly Up for a more intimate affair, even more Beatles tunes -- and a great cause.

Tickets start at $25 and they are currently on sale at BellyUp.com. The show is 21-and-up, and doors are at 6 p.m. Get more information here.
