Friday, April 12

Padres Ultimate Cookout
7:10 p.m. at Petco Park
Baseball season has arrived! Go to the first weekend game at Petco Park, which features a BBQ cookout and live entertainment from Southbound Johnny. The Padres will be playing the Colorado Rockies.

Kettner Nights
6-9 p.m. on Kettner Street between Grape and Laurel Streets
See some local art as shops in Little Italy display their best pieces for Kettner Nights. The event is free and open to the public.

Saturday, April 13

I Love a Clean Alpine
9 a.m to 3 p.m. at 2955 Alpine Blvd.
Pick up a free tree in the foothills of San Diego County at this green event. The Alpine Chamber of Commerce will also provide complimentary electronics recycling so you can get rid of any unwanted old items.

“Federal Jazz Project”

8 p.m. at Lyceum Theatre
Watch the latest play at the San Diego Repertory Theatre downtown: “Federal Jazz Project.” Tickets start at $31.

Sunday, April 14

College Area Taste
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4704 College Ave.
Sample some of the best food from College Area restaurants. Tickets for the event are $30 at the door.

Meet the Chefs of Del Mar
1-4 p.m. at 15575 Jimmy Durante Blvd.
Some of Del Mar's best restaurants will be serving up their best dishes for this benefit. Food from Brigantine, Prepkitchen and Poseidon will be paired with California wines. The event benefits local charity Casa de Amparo, which helps prevent child abuse.

Ride.Walk.Run
7:30 a.m. at DeAnza Cove
Thousands of locals will participate in the 14th annual epilepsy awareness event, including a 15-mile bike ride and 5k run/walk. Day-of registration is $35 and includes a lunch hosted by Phil’s BBQ.
