The New York City art-rockers of Vampire Weekend announced a U.S. tour on Wednesday, featuring a stop in San Diego in October.
Featuring shows in 35 cities, the tour kicks off in May at the Hangout Music Festival in Alabama and will wind its way across the U.S. -- with a couple stops in Canada -- before making its way to America's Finest City on Oct. 3 and concluding the following week at Red Rocks in Denver.
The Father of the Bride Tour (the name is a nod to the title of the group's upcoming release) won't be the first time Vampire Weekend played the Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre on the campus of SDSU -- they also put on a show there back in 2013. Before the band blew up, of course, they played the Casbah in March 2008, and even put on a SOMA show two years later, eventually performing in September 2013 at what was then known as Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista.
So far in 2019, Vampire Weekend have released two songs, "Harmony Hall" and "2021," and plan on dropping another pair every month till "FOTB" is officially released.

Vampire Weekend's life as a buzz band was extremely hot from the moment their eponymous indie-pop debut was released in 2008. The band was born at Columbia University, where all four of its original members were students. Multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Rostam Batmanglij tweeted in 2016 that he was leaving the band. VW has largely been quiet, other than appearing at a few festivals, since the release of those two songs earlier this month.
