Thousands ‘Pig Out' at SD Fair Bacon Fest

It was ‘Game On’ for bacon lovers at the County Fair

The San Diego County Fair had the perfect recipe for dads on Father's Day: bacon, beer, fun and games.

The fair hosted their "Big Bite Bacon Fest" Sunday at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, showcasing an array of bacon samples from more than 35 of the best chefs and restaurants in San Diego including Bacon A-Fair, The Meat Men and Mexico City Cuisine.

The hog heaven set-up also treated fair-goers to unlimited samples of more than 50 craft beers from the top local breweries including Coronado Islander IPA, Fat Tire Amber Ale, Green Flash Hop Head Red, and Stone Arrogant Bastard Ale.

Tickets prices ranged from $27 to $80. The Bacon Fest included a lunch session from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a dinner session from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. If you're still looking to make it to the fest, check out ticket prices and details here.

The San Diego County Fair runs through July 4th. Click here to find out about everything this year's fair has to offer, including food, music and other attractions.
