In 2013, 460,000 San Diegans -- almost a third of the population -- lacked reliable access to a sufficient amount of healthy, nutritious food.

The Regional Task Force on the Homeless reported that 8,879 people in San Diego were reported to be homeless in 2013. Of those lacking shelter, 1,122 were children.
