The Pearl Hotel Hosts Polar Plunge Fundraiser

The Polar Plunge fundraiser starts at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Pearl's saltwater pool

Baby, it’s cold outside, and it’s about to get even chillier at San Diego’s Pearl Hotel – all for a good cause, at least.

On Tuesday night, The Pearl will host a fundraiser at its pool dubbed “The Polar Plunge” where patrons are invited to take a dip in the hotel’s chilly saltwater pool. For each plunge, The Pearl will donate $25 to A Reason to Survive (ARTS), an organization dedicated to supporting youth arts programs.

After the Polar Plunge – and warming up – patrons can enjoy a special “Dive-In Movie” screening of the Christmas classic, “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” on the hotel’s 13-foot projection screen over the pool.

Organizers say Polar Plunge participants who dine at The Pearl’s restaurant, Eat at The Pearl, will receive 10 percent off their entire dining bill, too.

Those who don’t take the plunge can also donate to the hotel’s fundraising efforts for ARTS the remainder of December by dropping off donations at The Pearl’s front desk.
