Foodies looking to please their palates by exploring some popular local restaurants will get a chance to score some delicious deals on dining as San Diego Restaurant Week returns Jan. 19-24.
The event, which happens a few times throughout the year, showcases the tastiest culinary creations from more than 180 participating restaurants across San Diego County over the course of six days.
This time around -- which happens to be the 10th anniversary of Restaurant Week -- diners can enjoy special, multi-course, prix-fix menus for $10, $15 and $20 per person during lunch and $25, $35 and $45 during dinner.
No special passes are required for the event, just a healthy appetite and maybe some reservations, depending on the restaurant.
Organizers say the many eateries partaking in next week’s event span 12 unique regions throughout the county. This includes: downtown San Diego; Coronado; Uptown; East County; La Jolla; Mission Bay and Beaches; Central San Diego; North County Inland and North County Coastal; South Bay; Pt. Loma and Harbor Island and Old Town San Diego.
For instance, in the food-friendly Uptown area, Croce’s Park West is offering a $35 dinner deal, while The Wellington Steak and Martini Lounge will cook up a $45 dinner special.
Meanwhile, in downtown San Diego a wide array of more than 50 restaurants will participate, including the Yard House, famed chef Brian Malarkey’s Searsucker, the Blind Burro and Donovan’s Steak & Chop House.
For foodies looking for beach or bayside dining, there’s 1500 Ocean in Coronado, 333 Pacific in the North County Coastal region or George’s Ocean Terrace in La Jolla, among many, many other Restaurant Week eateries.

By the way, the last San Diego Restaurant Week in September 2013 was such a hit that organizers extended the event by an extra week. Perhaps if this pattern repeats itself next week, foodies will be treated to seconds once again.
