Get ready to bust out the gum drops and candy canes: a popular eatery in Little Italy is getting in on some festive fun with a gingerbread house contest.
Queenstown Public House, a New Zealand-inspired restaurant located in a craftsman house at 1557 Columbia St., recently transformed its exterior into a life-size gingerbread house for the holidays, complete with painted candies lining its walls.
On Wednesday, the business will spread more cheer by hosting a gingerbread house contest for both kids and kids at heart. The children’s contest runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., while the adults contest starts at 10 p.m.
The restaurant will provide every guest with a complimentary gingerbread house kit in exchange for a new, unwrapped toy donation that will benefit the 5th annual Toy Drive hosted by the Little Italy community.
Organizers say the sweetest gingerbread creation in the kid’s category will win tickets to LEGOLAND, while the winner in the adults contest will win a special Queenstown Public House gift basket filled with goodies.
