From music, to racing tips to donuts – there are plenty of freebies available this summer at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.
The races kick off with Opening Day fervor on July 17 and run through Wednesday, September 3.
Here’s your guide to enjoy them all.
Every Friday, the $6 Stretch Run admission gets you an entire day of racing and admission to 4 O’Clock Fridays. Check details on the concerts here.
On Saturday, July 19 and August 23, there’ll be free coffee, orange juice and yummy donuts from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at a Q&A session in the Seaside Terrace area at the West end of the Grandstand.
On Sunday, July 20, racetrack admission is free for children 17 & under. Kids 12 and under will get a free Webkinz 9” plush horse while supplies last.
Free beach towels will be handed out on Saturday, July 26 to those with paid admission. On Sunday, Aug. 24 it’s free T-shirt day for those with a ticket. For both events, it’s while supplies last.

On August 2, pay for racetrack admission and enjoy free samples from chili cooks vying for first place in the 2014 Western Regional Chili Cook-off. Free tastes start at 2 p.m. and last until the chili is gone.
Buy a ticket to the races and have access to a gathering of food trucks that will tempt your tastebuds! The list of food trucks taking part in the August 16 Gourmet Food Truck Festival will excite you. Bring your cash – the eats will cost you on average $4 to $8 each.
Become a Diamond Club member and enjoy some special freebies on Wednesdays. With your club ID, you’ll get free Stretch Run Admission, a free program and a free seat. The DMTC also says you’ll be able to purchase half-price domestic drafts, regular sodas and regular hot dogs at Stretch Run Concession Stands.
On August 31, enjoy a free day of music as the reggae band Devastators and DJ Carlos Culture play throughout the race day in the concert area west of the grandstand.
Also - if you're looking to save even more money, consider buying a pack of 10 parking tickets for $50 when purchased in advance. The savings would be $5 off regular parking prices.
