America's Largest Cycling Event Seeks 5,000 Volunteers

The 2013 Amgen Tour of California spans 12 cities from May 12-19

America’s largest cycling event, the 2013 Amgen Tour of California, is looking for volunteers – 5,000 volunteers, to be exact.

Race organizers are in the process of recruiting thousands of volunteers to assist with race along the 750-mile course, which runs from Escondido to Santa Rosa, Calif., from May 12-19.

The race runs from south to north, visiting 12 host cities in California along the way.

Many volunteers are needed to fill the position of Course Marshals, who are assigned along the race course to assist race staff and local law enforcement authorities in each city. They’ll also help to monitor pedestrian traffic, barricades and road closures, as well as keeping spectators informed as the race is in progress.
