After 53 years serving book lovers in Normal Heights, the beloved Adams Avenue Book Store will close its doors.

"For the friendship and support of so many of you through all these years we want to express our gratitude and thanks," the bookstore said in an email to loyal fans.

The bookstore will begin its final its final, closing sale on June 4. All books will be discounted 25 percent. 

The bookstore's days and hours will remain the same until the store formally closes in July, according to the email the store sent out. 

Adams Avenue Book Store did not give a reason for closing. However, they asked people to continue to support used and out-of-print bookstores.
