Judging by his dismal poll numbers toward the end, not many GOP voters will miss Rick Perry's candidacy — but Jimmy Kimmel sure will.
The gaffe-prone Texas governor dropped out of the race Thursday because, as Jimmy Fallon explained on "Late Night" Thursday, "he just couldn't get over that one campaign hurdle — you know, talking."
After entering the GOP primary race as a presumed front-runner, Perry quickly slipped in the polls to look less like a shoo-in and more like a dilettante with his debate flubs and forgetfulness.
"He left [the race] the same way he entered it: confused and possibly a little bit drunk," Jimmy Kimmel joked on his show Thursday night.
"I am gonna miss Rick Perry," Kimmel added.
And as a eulogy to the one-time hopeful's campaign, he cued a montage of debate flub footage intercut with shots of "American Idol" judges cringing at bad performances.
