Shia LaBeouf: "I Am Retiring From All Public Life"

    Actor Shia LaBeouf announced on Twitter that he is "retiring from all public life."

    Will we soon be seeing a lot less of Shia LaBeouf?

    The 27-year-old actor certainly suggested just that when he took to Twitter on Friday morning, Jan. 10, and wrote, "In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life."

    He added, "My love goes out to those who have supported me," and followed up with a tweet that simply read, "#stopcreating."

    LaBeouf's decision comes after it was revealed on Dec. 16, 2013, that the "Transformers" star had plagiarized one of author Daniel Clowes' graphic novellas for his short film ""

    Soon after the striking similarities were uncovered, LaBeouf began to send a seemingly neverending number of apologetic tweets, culminating in the actor going so far as to express his deep regret via a skywritten message on Wednesday, Jan. 1.

    The move was widely mocked by most Twitter users, including a few of its more famous members. "This is by far the most I've been entertained by Shia LaBeouf," Seth Rogen quipped on Thursday, Jan. 2.

    As for his "retiring" declaration, time will tell if he actually follows through with it.
