Ryan Reynolds Talks Fatherhood and His “Tonight Show” Losing Streak

“I always like to lose when I come play fun games,” Reynolds said.

Ryan Reynolds loves being a father, but admitted that he could use more sleep.

The “Green Lantern” actor stopped by “The Tonight Show” Monday to talk about his new movie “The Woman in Gold” and chatted with Jimmy Fallon about his newborn daughter's "sleep allergy."

"We think that she thinks she's protecting us from the sleep monsters," Reynolds said. "She's like, 'Oh, I gotta keep them up or the sleep monsters will get them’.”

The 38-year-old actor even tried using “that Baby Einstein Stuff” to get the 9-week-old to nap, but revealed a major flaw in this method.

“For me, that's like horse tranquilizer," Reynolds joked. "I could go down on a lit stove."

Fallon then challenged Reynolds, who had yet to win a game on “The Tonight Show,” to play a round of “Egg Russian Roulette.”

“I always like to lose when I come play fun games,” Reynolds quipped. “I lost in Old Man Shuffleboard and Water War.”

Egg Russian Roulette is played with a carton of 12 eggs — eight boiled and four raw. Each contestant takes turns selecting one egg at a time and smashing it over their head. The first person to crack two raw eggs loses.

Reynolds went first, and feeling good about his choice, crushed the egg over his head without hesitation.

“In your face Jimmy,” he gloated while pointing at his opponent.

Next, Fallon selected an egg and immediately seemed to regret his choice.

“Oh no, I already know what’s going to go down,” Fallon cried as he broke a raw egg over his head.

The actor hit a streak of beginners luck, selecting a hard boiled egg on his second and third round.

“I’m still going to dinner after this,” Reynolds joked.

The host was also able to salvage his hair from yolk on his next two turns.

Reynolds finally picks one he’s “not confident about,” shaking the raw egg nervously as he smashed it over his head.

With the score tied, Fallon suggested they each grab an egg and simultaneously crack them on their heads.
