President Obama Is Going ‘Running Wild With Bear Grylls' in Alaska

President Barack Obama is heading to Alaska and taking cameras–and Bear Grylls–with him. The adventure will air as a special edition of NBC's "Running Wild with Bear Grylls."

The two will trek through the wilderness, no word if they'll stop by Sarah Palin's pad to get a glimpse of Russia.

In a release, NBC said President Obama will meet with Grylls while visiting Alaska "to observe the effects of climate change on the area." In addition, the duo will then come together in the Alaskan wilderness. Obama is the first US president to get a crash course in survival techniques from Grylls. The visit will be taped and aired on NBC later this year.

"Running Wild with Bear Grylls" is now in its second season and has featured celebrities such as Kate Winslet, Zac Efron, Kate Hudson, Channing Tatum and Michelle Rodriguez, all leaving their comfort zones and going into the unknown with Grylls one-on-one (with a camera crew of course).

Obama's no stranger to TV appearances. He's appeared on "The Daily Show" and "Saturday Night Live," among others, but this looks to be his first reality appearance.
